# Share a mailing list subscribe link

To let people join a mailing list themselves, open the list from Admin console › Manage Domain(s) › your domain › Mailing Lists, set Registration to open, and copy the subscribe link shown under it. Share it by mail or on your site. The unsubscribe link is listed just below.

## How to share a mailing list subscribe link

1. Open **Manage Domain(s)**, expand your domain and click **Mailing Lists**.
2. Click the pencil icon (**Modify List**) next to your list.
3. Under **Registration**, choose **open**, then **For user of** your domain **only** or **For any one**.
4. Click **Update** to save the registration choice.
5. Click the copy icon next to **Permalink to subscribe through web**, and share the link.

## The two links

Each list shows four links in its settings window.

| Link | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Permalink to subscribe through web** | Opens a page where a person types their address and clicks **Add**. |
| The same link with an address added at the end | Adds that address at once, with no page to fill in. Useful in a mail you send to one person. |
| **Permalink to Un-Subscribe through web** | Opens a page where a person types their address and clicks **Remove**. |
| The same link with an address added at the end | Removes that address at once. |

Click the copy icon beside a link to copy it. Replace `validemail@yourdomain` in the second form with the real address.

## Who can join

| **Registration** choice | Who can use the subscribe link |
|---|---|
| **For user of** your domain **only** | Only addresses of your own domain, including their aliases. Other addresses are refused. |
| **For any one** | Any valid address. |
| **close** | Nobody. The links are switched off. |

## Example

> Acme India puts the subscribe link for `newsletter@acme.in` on its careers page. Visitors type their address and click **Add**. Anita sends Rohit the version with his address filled in, so he is on the list the moment he clicks it.

## Good to know

- The page takes one address at a time, up to 128 characters.
- An address that is already on the list is not added twice.

## Common questions

**What does the person see when they open the link?**

A short page asking for an email address, with an Add button on the subscribe link or a Remove button on the unsubscribe link.

**Can I send a link that already has the address filled in?**

Yes. Use the second form, which ends with `email=`. Put the person's address after it and they are added or removed straight away.

**The link does not work.**

Check that Registration is open and was saved with Update. With close, people cannot join through the web.
