# Set allowed IP ranges for the domain

To set allowed IP ranges, open Edit Domain, click the **Option** tab and click **Add IP Range** next to **Allowed Host IP range**. Enter the start and end IP, click **Add**, and repeat up to 10 times. Ranges are saved at once. When you set an IP range on a user, it must fall inside these.

## How to set allowed IP ranges for the domain

1. Open **Edit Domain** for your domain and click the **Option** tab.
2. Next to **Allowed Host IP range**, click **Add IP Range**.
3. Enter the **Start** and **End** address. For one address, enter it in both.
4. Click **Add**. The range appears in the table.
5. To remove a range, click **Remove** in its row.

## Options

| Option | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| **Add IP Range** | Opens a window with the list of ranges. | |
| **Start** | First address of the range, for example 10.20.0.1. Up to 20 characters. | empty |
| **End** | Last address of the range. The start must not be greater than the end. | empty |
| **Add** | Saves the range. You can also press Enter. | |
| **Remove** | Deletes the range after the check below. | |

## Example

> Acme sets 203.0.113.10 to 203.0.113.50 as its office range. When Rohit's IP range is set to 203.0.113.20 to 203.0.113.30, it is accepted. A range outside the office range is refused with the message "User host IP-Range only allowed in" followed by your list.

## Good to know

- You can keep at most 10 ranges, and the same range cannot be added twice.
- Both addresses must be valid IP addresses.
- When the list is empty, user IP ranges are not limited by the domain.
- Only the ranges you add here are checked against the IP ranges that you set for individual users.

## Common questions

**Do I need to click View / Save Changes after adding a range?**

No. **Add** and **Remove** save the list straight away.

**Why can't I remove a range?**

A message tells you to remove the matching IP range from the users first. A range that still contains a user's own range cannot be removed.
