# Edit your domain settings

To edit your domain, open Admin console › Manage Domain(s) and click the pencil icon next to your domain. Edit Domain has three tabs: **Domain** for sharing, aliases and organisation details, **Option** for services, security and limits, and **Info**, a read-only summary. **Check Login Status** sits at the top right.

## How to edit your domain settings

1. Open **Manage Domain(s)** in the left menu.
2. Click the pencil icon next to your domain name.
3. On the **Domain** tab, change the sharing scope, domain alias, access, mail service or organisation details.
4. Click **View / Save Changes**, check the **Confirm** box and click **Save**.
5. Open the **Option** tab for services, security, limits and regional settings, or **Info** to read all settings.

## The tabs of Edit Domain

| Tab | What it is for |
|---|---|
| **Domain** | Sharing scope, domain aliases, other domain admins, access, mail service and organisation contact details. |
| **Option** | Services, mailbox and daily limits, security, regional settings, tags, user attributes and office holidays. |
| **Info** | A read-only summary of all your domain's settings. |
| **Check Login Status** | A small window that shows whether the domain is active, expired or out of user or space quota. It is a link at the top right of the tabs. |

The **Option**, **Info** and **Check Login Status** tabs appear when you edit an existing domain.

## What you can change on the Domain tab

| Field | What it does | Can you edit it? |
|---|---|---|
| **Domain** | The domain name. | No. |
| **Number Of Users** | Users allowed in the domain, with how many are created. A link shows how many have unlimited space. | No, locked. |
| **Allow Sharing of contacts/folders with** | **With in Domain** lets users share only inside the domain. **Across Other Domains (Same Server)** also allows sharing with domains on the same server. | Yes. |
| **Add Other Domain Admin** | Lets an admin of another domain manage yours. | Yes, for your own domain. |
| **Domain Alias** | Domains on which your users can have email aliases. | Yes. |

| **Organization Info** | Organisation name, contact person, email and mobile. The **Organization Name** here is a different setting from the one on the **Option** tab. | Yes. |

Buttons at the bottom: **View / Save Changes** checks your entries and shows what changed; **Reset** brings back the saved values.

## Example

> Meera administers acme.in. She opens Edit Domain, adds acme-labs.in under **Domain Alias**, types Rohit as the contact person and saves. Then she opens the **Info** tab to confirm that every value is as she expects.

## Good to know

- Setting **Access** to **Read** or **Mail Service** to **Stop** affects every user of the domain, so confirm with your team before saving.
- Switching sharing to **Across Other Domains (Same Server)** from **With in Domain** shows a warning: mails and folders already shared with all users will be unshared. Click **Yes** to continue.
- Domain administrators can change **Access** and **Mail Service** for their own domain. Only billing details are locked.
- Billing administrators can view the Domain tab but cannot save changes.
- Server administrators can also add or delete a domain and change the user and space quotas.

## Common questions

**Why can I not change the number of users or the space for my domain?**

Those boxes are shown to you but are locked. They are set by your service provider's server administrator.

**Where do I find the pencil icon?**

In the left menu, under **Manage Domain(s)**, next to the name of your domain.
