# Edit the alert and notice mails

To edit automatic mails, open the admin console, go to Manage Domain(s), expand your domain and click Alert/Notice. The Alert Message and Notice Message tabs list each mail. Change From, Subject, CC, Bcc and the message, then click Save under that mail. Each mail is saved on its own.

## How to edit the alert and notice mails

1. Open **Manage Domain(s)**, expand your domain and click **Alert/Notice**.
2. Open the **Alert Message** or **Notice Message** tab and find the mail you want to change.
3. Fill **From**, **Subject** and the **Message**. Add **CC** or **Bcc** if you want copies.
4. Click **Save** under that mail.

## What every mail has

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| **From** | The sender address. It must be one existing mailbox in your domain. Only one address is allowed. |
| **Subject** | The subject line. Required. |
| **CC** and **Bcc** | Optional copy addresses. They must be valid addresses and different from each other and from **From**. |
| **Message** | The mail body, written in a rich-text editor. Required. |
| **To** | Shown for information: the mail goes to the subscriber or email account holder. |
| **Save** | Saves only that mail. |

## Alert Message tab

| Mail | When it is sent |
|---|---|
| Mailbox size quota | If a user's mailbox size quota is about to reach its limit. |
| Folder shared | If a user shares a folder with another user. |
| Folder unshared | If a user unshares a folder that was shared with them. |
| Domain time limit | If the domain is about to cross its time limit. |
| Email account time limit | If an email account is about to cross its time limit. |
| Suspicious login | If a login attempt is found from a country that is not allowed. |
| Service about to expire | If the user's services are about to expire. |
| Service expiry reminder | A reminder that the user's services are about to expire. |
| Service expired and blocked | If the user's services have expired and been blocked. |

## Notice Message tab

| Mail | When it is sent |
|---|---|
| Space quota | If the space quota exceeds its limit of 100%. |
| Domain expiry | If the domain expires. |
| Email account expiry | If an email account expires. |

## Example

> Meera wants warnings to come from a named mailbox. In **Alert Message** she opens the mailbox size quota mail, sets **From** to `helpdesk@acme.in`, rewrites the message in Hindi and English, and clicks **Save**.

## Good to know

- **From** must be a real mailbox in your domain, or the page says the user does not exist.
- The mail is not saved if **Subject** or **Message** is empty, or if **From**, **CC** and **Bcc** repeat the same address.
- Changes apply to your domain only.

## Common questions

**Why do I see a line saying this is the default message set by the server administrator?**

Until you save your own text, your domain uses the default mail. Edit it and click **Save** to replace it for your domain.

**Do I need to save the whole tab?**

No. Each mail has its own **Save** button. Saving one does not save the others on the tab.
